Finding free acting lessons in New York City
can be easy, but not all acting coaches can
teach you what you'll need for a successful acting career.
It can be incredibly difficult to become an actor or an actress, especially in
New York City, where there's so much competition. But with the right
acting lessons,
you can learn the skills that you'll need to launch your acting career off the ground.
The key to starting a real acting career in New York is taking the right acting lessons
where you will not only learn how to be a great actor, but also learn from teachers who
are respected in the industry.
Talent agents and casting directors want to see that you've studied with name-brand
acting teachers that they recognize for producing students who are successful. Without
one of these on your acting résumé,
it won't really matter how good you are.
Thousands of people flock to New York every year to try to chase the dream of
becoming a star. Most of them end up as clichéd struggling actors, working as waiters, and
barely keeping up with their rent. But for the small handful who know what they're doing,
the sky is the limit.
Take Tom Cruise, for example.

Tom Cruise was born in Syracuse, New York to an impoverished mother and an abusive father.
When he turned 18, he moved to New York City to pursue his dream of becoming an actor.
Like most other actors, when he arrived he found no success. He auditioned for commercials
frequently, but never got hired.
To support himself, he worked as a mover, as a busboy, and as a table-cleaner at
Mortimer's restaurant. He took classes in the evening to hone his skills, but despite his
talent, training and good looks, he never booked any roles.
Casting directors frequently cited him as "angry" and "too intense", and he never got hired
for anything.
Eventually he signed with the then burgeoning Creative Artists Agency (which is now the most
powerful talent agency in the world), and he started to get auditions for TV shows and movies.
He never found success with TV, but in 1980, he earned his first
film role in the movie
Endless Love. His part was small, and the movie was dismal, and not much came of it. However,
soon afterwards, he got an audition for a single line in a new movie called Taps.
He impressed the director so much that he raised him to a much bigger part with 5th billing and
a salary of $50,000. With the clout and exposure from his supporting role in Taps,
Tom's career took off. The next year he played his first starring role in the movie
Risky Business. The movie was a hit, and stayed in the top 5 at the box office for 11 weeks.
From there, the offers started pouring in. In two years, his salary jumped from $75,000, which he was
paid for Risky Business, to $500,000, which he earned for the movie Legend.
Within five years, he was starring in blockbusters, like Top Gun, and raking in over
$20 million a picture.
This is what it really means to be a movie star. Unfortunately, the vast majority of actors and
actresses out there don't know it, and they probably will never find out.
The Hollywood players don't have time to hold your hand and teach you the ways the industry works.
They sort out the ones with real potential from the horde of wannabes,
toss them into the mill, and hope that a shiny new star will form.
What you'll learn in CelebSystem is how to be part of that small handful chosen from the herd of
wannabes, how to make all the right moves to get ahead, and most importantly, how to maintain your
star status once you've achieved it.
