Taking an acting class in Chicago is a great way for aspiring actors and
actresses to work on their acting skills. However, most successful
actors and actresses have studied in a variety of acting classes with the
best acting teachers possible.
Becoming a successful actor or actress in Chicago is an endeavor that requires an
incredible amount of talent, and those who practice their craft and
learn what they need to know from good sources have a real chance at
movie and TV stardom.
Some aspiring actors in Chicago are able to make their acting dream come true.
Others never quite get there, leaving the dream behind, or chasing it forever.
A lot of people think that taking any acting class will be all they need
to have a great acting career. But the reality is that most aspiring actors

Take Jeremy Piven, for example.

In his younger years, Jeremy Piven studied drama under the tutelage of his
parents, Byrne and Joyce Piven. They opened the Chicago acting school,
Piven Theatre Workshop, which is located just north of Chicago in Evanston, Illinois.
After graduating from high school, he attended Drake University in Iowa. He later transferred
to another acting school, New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, but he dropped out in his
senior year in an effort to actually get work as an actor.
Back in Chicago, he joined the Second City Troupe, where he was trained in
comedy and improvisation, and got a chance to do some work, but he still
wasn't even close to the road to fame and fortune.
Over the years he was able to pull down some big roles in some small movies
that no one saw, and he was able to get some tiny roles in some big movies
that no one would remember him for.
Throughout the 90's this was his plight.
But through a combination of his talent, acting training, and significantly
well-executed career direction, he ended up as the lead on an ABC romantic
comedy called Cupid.
Cupid received rave reviews, and Jeremy stood out as an excellent performer, but
viewership was dismal, and it was quickly cancelled.
Soon afterwards he was cast as Nicholas Cage's friend and neighbor in
The Family Man. He didn't have a huge part, but the movie opened
at #3 over Christmas weekend in 2000, which exposed him to a whole new
audience of filmmakers, agents, and others who had the power to influence
his career.
From there he went on to the third lead in Serendipity in 2001, the
main antagonist in Old School in 2003, and of course, his star-making
role as Ari Gold in Entourage in 2004. The rest is history.
This is what it really means to be a movie star. Unfortunately, the vast majority of actors and
actresses out there don't know it, and they probably will never find out.
The Hollywood players don't have time to hold your hand and teach you the ways the industry works.
They sort out the ones with real potential from the horde of wannabes,
toss them into the mill, and hope that a shiny new star will form.
